Circle Boosts USDC Utility with Hyperliquid Integration and Strategic Stake Purchase
Circle has introduced native USDC on Hyperliquid's HyperEVM chain, removing the necessity for wrapped versions and enhancing cross-chain transfers via its upgraded Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP v2). The stablecoin issuer has also acquired a direct stake in Hyperliquid through HYPE tokens, hinting at potential validator aspirations.
Hyperliquid is experiencing rapid growth, with August perpetuals trading volume surpassing $39 billion and total value locked approaching $670 million. This integration enables USDC to serve as collateral and liquidity within HyperEVM's DeFi ecosystem, with direct HyperCore connectivity expected soon.
Circle's strategic initiative merges technical infrastructure deployment with financial alignment, placing USDC at the Core of one of DeFi's fastest-growing perpetuals platforms. This collaboration could drive institutional adoption as regulated stablecoins achieve deeper blockchain interoperability.
